Faced with some hard decisions about how to structure the rest of their professional lives in the daunting work force of the early ‘90s, Nanette and John Carney examined their options. They considered taking their work fate into their own hands and decided to just do it. They began The Carney Group as a placement firm specializing in mature workers.

Twelve years later, they have become a major force in helping workers in their late 40s and 50s get back into the job market after being downsized, retired early, or otherwise involuntarily parted from companies many of them have been with for decades.
