In March of 1997, Philadelphia Mayor, Ed Rendell, named The Carney Group a "Champion of Mature Workers" on behalf of the Mature Workers Task Force, a non-profit agency affiliated with the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging. 

Honored for their "outstanding record in fostering and assisting employment for the older worker," The Carney Group was recognized by Mayor Ed Rendell for "their continued, outstanding commitment to the advocacy and promotion of the positive values associated with hiring and retaining mature workers."
